Little Bee is a gripping story about a teenage Nigerian refugee girl and an English magazine editor named Sarah. Their worlds collide in horror and from that point on, their lives are never the same again. As I read this book, i found myself;
– laughing
– crying
– horrified
– disturbed mostly
– curious
Things i liked about this book;-
- the authors ability to write quite convincingly from a female perspective:sensitive and touching.
- the fact that although fictional, the subject matter was based on current affairs.
- loved how the chapters alternate between the two women, each telling her story. I tremendously enjoyed Little Bees chapters.
The one thing i didn’t like is how the book ended. Very unexpected, I should say. Yikes!
